This week the Myrtle Beach area will be recognizing Veteran's Day with a number of events for you to attend as well as the special ones the Grand Strand Chapter has planned for your participation.
In addition to those, there are a few more:
The Long Bay Symphony will perform their annual
War & Peace Concert at three locations:
Sat. Nov 12 at 3:00pm at the United Methodist Church in Conway
Sun. Nov 13 at 2:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach
Sun, Nov 13 at 6:00pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea in N. Myrtle Beach.
$10 admission, Free for Veterans.
Coastal Carolina University will hold their annual
Salute to American Veterans:
Friday, Nov. 11, 7:30 p.m.
Wheelwright Auditorium
United Bank Center for Military and Veteran Studies
The event is designed to honor veterans of the U.S. armed forces and will feature patriotic music, presentation of the colors by a military color guard, a performance of the historic service branch anthems, and recognition of veterans by service branch and era. It will also include the premier of a new documentary film about the Korean War, titled Courage in Korea, which will feature historic combat footage, period photography, and personal commentary by local Korean War veterans.
Admission:Free and open to the public

CCU Department of Music
A Chanticleer Winter/Holiday Collage
The CCU Concert Choir and Chamber Choir host friends and colleagues from CCU’s fast-growing music department to offer sounds in a wide variety of musical genres. Musicians from CCU’s voice, theatre, percussion, wind, string, and jazz programs join together to lift holiday spirit with stirring and entertaining arrangements of the songs of winter, Christmas, Hanukkah, and more.
