SUBJECT:  GS MOAA Dinner Meeting, May 13, 2025 at 5:30 pm

The May meeting will be at Pine Lakes Country Club, 5603 Granddaddy Dr. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. 

Speaker:  Linda Caldwell, CPT (Fmr), USA - President, SC Council of MOAA Chapters 

Program:  CPT (Fmr) Caldwell will discuss the mission of the Council and various ongoing initiatives. She will also relate some interesting experiences from her time as an Army nurse.  Additionally, we will be honoring the senior JROTC cadets from local area high schools who will be receiving college scholarships from our Chapter this year as well as the JROTC staff from the high schools in our local area. 

Please do your best to attend this dinner.  CPT (Fmr) Caldwell is from the next MOAA Echelon above our chapter, so let's give her the right impression of us by having a large, interested and attentive audience.

Social time begins at 5:30 PM with our program starting at 6:00 PM.  We expect to conclude around 7:45 PM.

Dinner is $30 per person.  PAYMENT MAY BE MADE: by credit card on line, or by check, cash or credit card at the door.  Either way, prior registration is essential as we need to provide a pre-headcount to our dining club host.

Dress is business casual.  You are encouraged to bring your spouse and other guests, especially if those guests are prospective members or are members who attend the dinners infrequently.

Presentation of the Colors at this dinner will be by a Color Guard from St James High School Army JROTC.

Biography

CPT (Fmr) Linda Caldwell is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Nursing and received her MS in Nursing from Rutgers University.  She served as Captain in the US Army Nurse Corps from 1966-69, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.   During her 47 year career, Linda worked in various areas of nursing including ICU, oncology, medical education, and the pharmaceutical industry before retiring in 2013. 

She currently serves as President of the South Carolina Council of MOAA Chapters, Director of the Aiken County Hometown Hero Banner Project, and is a board member of Our Community Salutes, Midlands SC Chapter.  Linda also belongs to the American Legion, the VFW, and the Trenton Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.  

She and her husband, Brent, a former US Air Force officer, have three daughters and four grandchildren.  In her spare time Linda enjoys traveling, doing counted cross stitch, and reading mystery novels.

I am sorry that I cannot attend this meeting, but conduct of the meeting will in the very capable hands of our First Vice President, Dean Brown,
