The October meeting will be at Pine Lakes Country Club, 5603 Granddaddy Dr. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
Speaker: Dr. Blase Carabello, Board Director, Friends of Fisher House. His biography is at the end of this invitation.
Program: Dr Carabello will discuss Fisher House functions and activities in support of families navigating medical treatment.
Please do your best to attend this dinner. Dr. Carabello does much good for military families, so let's give him the right impression of us by having a large, interested and attentive audience.

Please join us for our GS MOAA Dinner meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 2025,. Please do not forget your GS MOAA name tag if you have one.
Social time begins at 5:30 PM, followed by our program starting at 6:00 PM. A buffet-style dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. We expect to conclude around 7:45 PM.

Biography
Dr. Blase Carabello, MD is a cardiovascular researcher and clinician whose work has appeared in more than 500 medical journals, books and editorials. Dr. Carabello earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and cardiology fellowship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital of Harvard Medical School.
He was the recipient of the American College of Cardiology Distinguished Scientist Award and the Harriet P Dustan Award for Contribution of Science to Medicine. Dr. Carabello has served for 4 years on the FDA, demonstrating his expertise in medical regulation and patient safety.
He is a past president of the Society for Heart Valve Disease and also of the Association of University Cardiologists. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, reflecting his standing among the nation’s top medical researchers.
Dr. Carabello is currently the program director for the Valve Program at Roper St Francis Hospital, Charleston SC. His extensive medical expertise and understanding of complex healthcare systems provides invaluable insight to Friends of Fisher House Charleston as we support families navigating medical treatment.
